RI WD Closed Dual Hanging · Robot on an overhead track

The robot works from above. The floor stays free for your parts.

A closed welding cell with two stations and a 6-axis cobot mounted upside down on an overhead travelling track. The robot reaches the part from above and from the sides, so vertical, inclined and curved seams need fewer part repositionings.

Why you need it

Large parts, awkward angles, limited floor space

Large structural parts have seams in every direction, and floor-mounted robots take up exactly the space the parts need.

Seams that are hard to reach

Vertical, inclined and curved seams force you to turn the part several times.

No room on the floor

In a crowded workshop every square metre counts.

Robot mounted above

The inverted cobot travels on the overhead track and reaches the seams from above.

What it does

Reaches every seam, from above

Cobot mounted on an overhead track inside the cell

Robot on an overhead track

The cobot is mounted upside down on a travelling track at the top of the cell and moves between the two stations.

  • More free space under the robot

Welding in any position

Vertical, inclined and curved seams with stable quality; the torch angle is compensated automatically.

  • Straight, circular, fillet, butt and lap welds

Two stations, no waiting

The operator loads one station while the robot welds on the other.

  • Continuous work in series
Teaching the welding path by guiding the cobot arm by hand

Teach the path by hand, no code

The operator guides the arm with the foldable handle; a 6-axis force sensor records the path with ±0.05 mm positioning accuracy.

  • Works on curved surfaces and in narrow spaces

Closed cabin, clean air

Arc-filtering windows, fume and dust extraction and an external emergency stop button.

  • Panel tilted 15° for standing or seated work
Where it is used

Made for large and complex parts

Steel roof structure

Large structural parts

Beams, frames and brackets with seams in several directions.

Fewer part turnovers
Worker measuring a metal frame

Workshops with little floor space

Robotic welding without giving up floor space to the robot.

Welding rectangular steel tubes

Complex assemblies

Assemblies with vertical, inclined and curved seams.

Stable quality at any angle
How it works

Up and running in 4 simple steps

Loading station A

The operator fixes the part on the first station.

Teaching the seam

Guide the arm with the handle or choose a saved program.

Welding on A, loading B

The cobot welds on station A while the operator prepares station B.

Alternating, without stops

The cobot moves to station B and the finished part is unloaded from A.

Frequently asked questions

What customers ask us

How much does the RI WD Closed Dual Hanging cost?

The price depends on the configuration: cobot, welding source (MIG/MAG or laser) and options. Send us a drawing of your part and we will send you an offer.

Do I need a robot programmer?

No. The operator guides the arm by hand and chooses the parameters from the WPS library. We train your team at commissioning.

Do I need a separate fume extraction system?

No. Fume and dust extraction is built into the cabin.

Why a hanging robot?

Mounted on the overhead track, the robot leaves the floor free and reaches the seams from above, which helps with large parts and awkward angles.

What is the difference from the RI WD Closed Dual?

Both have two stations and the same cabin size. In the Hanging version the robot travels on an overhead track, for large parts and seams in several directions.

Which materials can it weld?

Carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium alloys, with ready parameters in the WPS library. A laser source is available for faster seams on thinner material.

Do you deliver and install abroad?

Yes. We deliver quickly worldwide and provide technical support and integration into your production.

Can you check it on my parts?

Send us a drawing or a sample; we check the seams and recommend the right configuration.

Do you have large parts with hard-to-reach seams?

Send us a drawing of your part. We check how the robot reaches every seam and send you an offer.
